Our good friend and former K-Line drummer, James Sherry, was on hand at the Bird’s Nest gig last week to take some pictures and record a few minutes of video. Turns out the room was too dark for you to see anything on the video, but the sound quality was decent enough, so I cut that out and have uploaded the 2 songs as audio only. Squirrels cuts off a few seconds from the end, but you get the whole of Seams. I’ve also included a few of James’ snaps from the gig too.
Here’s a taste of the Cambridge gig from last night. The lights a bit irritating and mean that you can’t really make out Tom & Rich, but at least the sound doesn’t distort which is nice. We’re playing the old Sink song, Blue Noodles.
I assume we’ll be opening up proceedings at this gig because Kev kindly agreed to slip us in at the last minute. That means we’ll be onstage at 9PM sharp.

We’re on 2nd from last and will kick off our set at 9.30.
We have arranged an extra Liquidman gig courtesy of our buddies, Kev & Symes. Their new band, Shut The Fuck Up, is putting on a gig in Deptford on Dec 17th and we’re lucky enough to be a late addition to the bill. Flyer below (we were too late to make it on). It’s a free gig which is good news. Will post more here when I find it out - i.e. what time we’ll be onstage.
Rich Matthews and I have started up a new band to play on a very intermittent basis in the interests of getting together every now and then to make a racket and have a good time. We’ll primarily be playing a collection of older songs (from Sink mainly, but also some Chocolate, the original Liquidman, You Disgust Me and possibly a couple of K-Line songs to which I wrote the lyrics…although the K-Line is doubtful because I can’t sing like Zac). Rich’s mate Tom (ex of Colour Code) and Damion Rice - my filmwasters.com buddy and ex-Killerest Expression - will be on drums and bass respectively.
The initial idea came about when DS kindly asked me to play an acoustic set as an opener for the ’secret’ Snuff gig in Cambridge back in August. I didn’t fancy doing an acoustic set, but asked if we could do a one-off band thing and play some old songs. DS was up for it so Rich and Tom & I had a couple of rehearsals and opened up the night. We enjoyed it so much and people were so positive about it that we decided to play a few more gigs.
The first one is back at The Portland Arms on Saturday December 19th with Damion joining on bass and Rich switching back to guitar. If you’re interested in seeing us play then get in touch…especially if you can put us on. We have gigs in Leamington Spa and Kingston in the works, but no dates confirmed yet.
[Liquidman history: A few years ago I got together with John Ruscoe and two good friends, Damion & Sid, from The Killerest Expression to knock out a one-off studio project. The new band needed a name so we resurrected Liquidman]
